BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. Banks operating in Azerbaijan paid profit tax amounting to 23.7 million manat ($13.9 million) in January of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Central Bank shows that this figure increased by 1.8 million manat ($1.06 million), or 8.2 percent compared to the same month last year.
Thus, in January 2024, the amount of profit tax paid by banks operating in Azerbaijan amounted to 21.9 million manat ($12.9 million).
This January, the pre-tax profits of the banks operating in Azerbaijan amounted to 94.7 million manat ($55.6 million), while their net profits were 71 million manat ($41.8 million).
Last year, the total amount of profit tax paid by banks in Azerbaijan was 294.3 million manat ($173.7 million).
