BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 21. Azerbaijan saw significant growth in cargo transported by road from January through February 2025, with a total of $1.9 billion worth of 955,500 tons of goods moved.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that this represents an increase of $143.4 million, or 8 percent, in value and an 80,400-ton, or 9.2 percent, increase in volume compared to the same period last year.
Thus, during the reporting period, 567.3 thousand tons of cargo worth 1.6 billion US dollars were imported to Azerbaijan by the aforementioned vehicles. This means an increase of 94.1 million US dollars, or 6.2 percent, in value terms and 18.2 thousand tons, or 3.3 percent, in volume terms, compared to January-February of 2024.
At the same time, in January-February of this year, 388.2 thousand tons of cargo worth 330.7 million US dollars were exported from Azerbaijan by road transport, which is 49.2 million US dollars or 17.5 percent more in value terms and 62.2 thousand tons or 19.1 percent more in volume terms compared to the same period last year.
