BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2.​ The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) reported a rise in net claims on banks and non-banking financial institutions (NBFI), amounting to 9.9 billion manat ($5.8 billion) as of March 1, 2025.

Data obtained by Trend from the CBA indicates that this signifies a contraction of 9 percent, equating to 980.4 million manat ($576.7 million), relative to the preceding month.

Nevertheless, in juxtaposition with the corresponding timeframe from the previous fiscal year, net claims have escalated by an excess of 2.9 billion manat ($1.7 billion), reflecting a substantial uptick of 42.5 percent.

It is pertinent to highlight that the Central Bank Authority's net claims on banking institutions and non-bank financial intermediaries were recorded at 10.9 billion manat ($6.4 million) as of February 1, 2025, while the preceding data point from March 1, 2024, indicated a valuation of approximately 6.8 billion manat ($4 million).
