ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 14. The Kazakhtelecom Group of Companies completed the sale of a 100 percent stake in the mobile operator Mobile Telecom-Service LLP (MT-S) in January 2025, Trend reports via the Kazakhtelecom's consolidated financial statements for 2024.
The deal, which was completed at the beginning of the current year, left the company with full control over MT-S until the end of 2024.
"The company continues to follow its digital transformation strategy, focusing efforts on the development of fixed and mobile communications, as well as infrastructure projects such as the implementation of 5G and the modernization of the GPON network. Active work is underway to transition subscribers to new technologies, including replacing outdated routers and laying optical communication lines," the company noted.
At the end of 2024, the Group recorded an 8.2 percent increase in revenue compared to the previous year, reaching 744 billion tenge (approximately $1.416 million), including MT-S's business results. However, after the completion of the sale, the mobile operator's performance will be reflected in discontinued operations.
