BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. Azerbaijan has started harvesting wheat and barley across the country, with varying progress and yields depending on the region.
Data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Agriculture's operational data as of June 12, 2025, indicates that the harvest has been completed on 0.8 percent of wheat planting areas and 28.7 percent of barley planting areas across the country.
So far, 4,141 hectares of wheat and 122,265 hectares of barley have been harvested, producing 13,032 tonnes of wheat and 381,604 tonnes of barley.
The average yield per hectare stands at 31.5 centners for wheat and 31.2 centners for barley. The highest wheat yields were recorded in Salyan (50 centners/ha) and Barda (41.3 centners/ha), while Hajigabul (48 centners/ha) and Oghuz (40 centners/ha) reported the best barley yields.
