BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11. The volume of cargo transported through Iranian airports decreased by 21 percent during the four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2025) compared to the same period of the last year (from March 20 through July 21, 2024).
The data obtained by Trend from the Iranian Airports Company shows that in the reporting period, this figure amounted to 21,400 tons against 27,200 tons in the four months of last year.

In the four months, the majority of cargo was transported through Iran's Mashhad Airport with 13,600 tons, Shiraz Airport with 3,330 tons, and Isfahan Airport with 1,800 tons.
A total of 54 civilian airports operate in Iran. Of these, 14 are international airports. Iranian airports transport an average of 30 million passengers annually.
