BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. The amount of funds to be allocated to the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) to cover some expenses in the 2026 state budget has been announced, Trend reports.
This issue was reflected in the draft law “On the State Budget of Azerbaijan for 2026”, discussed today at the meeting of the Parliament's Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.
The document delineates that the 2026 state budget allocates 40 million manat ($23.6 million) for AYNA to facilitate the orchestration of systematic passenger transit via terrestrial routes, operationalize a regulatory framework for international passenger and freight conveyance, deploy novel wayfinding signage, rehabilitate extant signage, and oversee the management of vehicular and pedestrian thoroughfare infrastructure.
The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) operates as a public legal entity, instituted in 2021 under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. Its mandate encompasses the regulation of road transport within Azerbaijan, which includes the oversight of both passenger and cargo transportation modalities, the assurance of service quality metrics, and the management of adherence to transport regulations and international treaties.
