BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. The 2026 state budget will allocate 1.9 billion manat ($1.17 billion) for agriculture, housing and utility services, and environmental protection expenditures, Trend reports.
This issue was reflected in the draft law “On the State Budget of Azerbaijan for 2026”, discussed today at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship.
The said budget envisages 1.2 billion manat ($723 million) for agricultural expenditures, which is 18.3 million manat ($10.8 million), or 1.5 percent higher than in 2025, and 126.4 million manat ($74.8 million), or 11.5 percent higher than the 2024 budget execution.
Of this amount, 490 million manat ($290 million) is envisaged for improving the management of existing water facilities in Azerbaijan, supplying irrigation water to farmers, enhancing the reclamation status of lands, bringing new agricultural lands into cultivation, expanding irrigated areas, maintaining irrigation sub-artesian wells, and financing other land reclamation measures.
