The Iranian government is planning to build the Persian Gulf Bridge in two and a half years that would connect Bandar Abbas Port and Qeshm Island, said the secretary of Free Zones High Council, Trend reports citing ILNA.
The construction contract of the Persian Gulf Bridge has been signed by contractors at the cost of 280 million euros that would be complete in two and a half years, Saeed Mohammad noted.
The project will partly be financed from the sale of state-owned luxury villas to start the construction as soon as possible, he indicated.
Iran is building its longest cross-sea bridge, linking the Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf to its coast in Bandar Abbas to join a transit corridor that stretches up to the Caspian Sea and Central Asia.
The Persian Gulf Bridge will connect Qeshm to the main transit corridor linking the Caspian port of Anzali to Bandar Abbas and Chabahar on the Oman Sea.
