Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kasymbek proposed to increase the number of foreign trade missions to increase the country's export potential.
He made the preposition during the meeting of the government, Kazakh media outlets reported.
"In accordance with the adopted export strategy, it is necessary to continue work on opening trade representation offices abroad. We need to open the trading houses firstly in the countries of priority for Kazakhstan’s export interests," the minister said.
He stressed that the list of such priority countries for Kazakhstan includes Russia, China, Belarus, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
"Most developed countries have an extensive network of trade missions. South Korea has 120 trade offices in 82 countries, Australia has representative offices in more than 100 countries, Russia has 66 offices in 52 countries," Kasymbek said.
Presently, Kazakhstan has 2 trade missions abroad in Russia (in Novosibirsk and in Moscow) and one trade and exhibition pavilion, located on the territory of the Russian Exhibition Center, which will; be opened in June 29, 2018.
The minister also stressed that the Kazakh government considers issue of financing and opening of 11 trade missions abroad.
