One of the leading enterprises of Azerbaijan’s Sumgayit Technologies Park (STP), a cable plant, plans to increase the production and export of products in 2020, STP PR manager Rashad Aliyev told Trend.
Cables and wires with a total length of more than 4.7 million meters were produced at the STP’s cable plant in 2019, Aliyev said.
The PR manager added that the plant is going to increase the production by opening new production lines and expanding the range of cable products
In the future, the plant is considering the possibility of manufacturing instrumental cables, including armored cables made of galvanized steel wire, the manager said.
Sumgayit Technologies Park, commissioned in December 2009, is a complex of large factories specializing in various fields of production.
Being a unique project in the region, STP fully meets the demand in the domestic market and is able to export a sufficient amount of products to the foreign market.
Since 2016, for the first time in the history of industry in Azerbaijan, the company began production of cables with a voltage of 500 kV.
Currently, STP residents are 12 factories and more than 30 production sites equipped with the latest technological equipment of European and Japanese production, employing 2,000 people.
The plant is equipped with modern German-made equipment.
