A total of 5,530 hectares of land have been put into operation in Iran's agricultural parks over the past seven years (the current government in Iran came to power in August 2013), said Managing Director of the Iranian Agricultural Parks Company Ali Ashraf Mansouri, Trend reports citing Ministry of Agriculture Jihad.
According to Mansouri, of these areas, the greenhouse products are grown on 1,260 hectares, fishery products on 3,760 hectares, and livestock products on 511 hectares.
The director noted as agricultural parks are equipped with water, electricity, gas, and other infrastructure, it leads to the reduction of production costs.
Mansouri stressed that so far, 10.6 trillion rials (about $251 million) in loans have been issued to establish agricultural parks in Iran.
“About 95 percent of these loans were issued over the past two years,” he added.
