BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 10. Iran’s manufacturing of various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers, and so on) rose by 11.3 percent in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the data from the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, 1,107,308 various vehicles were produced domestically within the country for 10 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), Iran’s total auto production stood at 995,106 vehicles.
In the 10th month alone (December 22, 2023 through January 20, 2024), Iran manufactured 117,395 various vehicles, which is a decrease of 0.08 percent compared to 117,494 units in the same month of the last Iranian year.
Overall, approximately 1.35 million vehicles, including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, heavy trucks and trailers, vans, buses and minibuses, and so on, were manufactured in Iran during the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), a 39 percent increase over the previous year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies—Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro—operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
