ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 2. Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Harvest Group, Almaz Alsenov, and discussed the implementation of an investment project in the agricultural sector, Trend reports via Kazakhstan's MFA.
In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of an investment project in the agricultural sector aimed at the phased conversion of 300,000 hectares of fallow and unused lands into irrigated agricultural lands using underground water and modern water-saving technologies.
“The project covers the Zhambyl, Almaty, Zhetysu, Aktobe, Pavlodar, Kyzylorda, and East Kazakhstan regions, with a total investment volume of $500 million in the first phase,” the statement said.
The Minister emphasized the importance of further advancing the project and expressed readiness to provide support from the state. In particular, the issue of signing an Investment Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and Harvest Group was considered.
The interlocutors also discussed the need to intensify cooperation with local executive bodies, especially at the district akimat (administration) level.
Moreover, Harvest Group is actively involved in transforming Kazakhstan’s agriculture by implementing advanced technologies and international approaches in water conservation and irrigation.
