Ashgabat hosted a conference on "Implementation of scientific and practical potential of gas and chemical industry", the Turkmen Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said today.
The representatives of ministries, state concerns and specialists from other departments of the fuel and energy complex attended the event.
According to the information, the facilities must be created in the industrial sector in the coming years to produce such new kinds of products as caustic soda, chlorine and its derivatives, potash fertilizers, building materials made of polyurethane, facing tiles, building glass, used in construction, insulation composite materials of basalt fibers.
The participants of the conference emphasized that the existing gas and chemical facilities, as well as the construction and commissioning of about 200 small, medium and large enterprises will create thousands of new jobs, expand the range of exported goods and reduce the cost of imports.
It is planned to expand the infrastructure of the industrial sector by developing the commercially viable mineral deposits - hard ores and minerals. In particular modernisation of the plants producing finished products by processing hydro-mineral resources of Garabogazgol used for medicinal purposes will take place. The production capacity will be increased to produce food and non-food products through processing the agricultural raw materials.
There are gas fields containing ethane in Turkmenistan. This creates favorable conditions for the gas and chemical industry. For example, the construction of a gas chemical complex in four to five years will lead to the widespread production of polyethylene and polypropylene.
The synthesis of these facilities will create the conditions for the production of different types of polymers used as a means of production for hundreds of items of industrial production, as well as the production of products which is a raw material base for rubber and rubber production.
