A solar power plant with a capacity of 10 MW has been built in the Zhanakorgan district of Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda region, Trend reports citing the Kazakh Ministry of Energy.
The project was implemented by HEK-KT LLP, a subsidiary of the Russian Hevel company.
The solar power plant is equipped with highly efficient solar modules with a solar tracking system. This system allows increasing electricity generation by an average of 20-25 percent compared to the static method of positioning a photovoltaic system.
About 100 people were involved in the construction of the solar power plant, 10 permanent jobs were created within the project.
The Hevel Group of Companies built the Kapshagai solar power plant (3 MW) in Kazakhstan and the Sarybulak solar power plant (4.95 MW) in the Almaty region in 2020.
The Hevel company put into operation the Shymkent solar power plant in Shymkent city (20 MW), the Kentau solar power plant in the Turkestan region (50 MW) and the Zhanakorgan solar power plant in the Kyzylorda region (10 MW) in the first quarter of 2021.
An investor plans to put into operation Shoktas solar power plant (50 MW) and Kushata solar power plant (10 MW) in the Turkestan region by late April. The main work has been completed at the facilities. The process of commissioning is underway.
Thus, the total capacity of Hevel Group projects in southern Kazakhstan will reach 148 MW. In total, as of October 2020, the total volume of the group's projects in Kazakhstan is 248 MW.
