PremiumIMF reveals inflation forecast in Azerbaijan for current and next two years

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts inflation in Azerbaijan to be 3 percent in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the October release of the IMF's ‘World Economic Outlook’ report.

According to the report, the given figure is 0.3 percentage points more compared to 2019. In 2021 and 2022, inflation in Azerbaijan will reach 3.1 and 3.2 percent, respectively. In April 2020, the IMF forecasted 3.3-percent inflation in Azerbaijan for 2020, and 3.2-percent - for 2021.

In 2019, inflation in Azerbaijan was 2.7 percent.

Azerbaijan became a member of the IMF on Sept.18, 1992. Azerbaijan's share in the IMF’s quota is 391.7 million special drawing rights. The quota determines voting rights in the IMF, membership fees, and the amount of credit that can be obtained from the IMF.
