PremiumIMF unveils inflation outlook in Azerbaijan for 2021-2022

Inflation in Azerbaijan is projected at 3.5 percent in 2021, despite the fact that in 2020 the forecast varied within 2.7 percent, Trend reports citing the April release of the World Economic Outlook report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to the IMF forecasts, in 2022, the inflation rate in Azerbaijan will drop to 3.2 percent.

Earlier, Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee reported on a 3.7-percent growth of the consumer price index in Azerbaijan for the first 2 months of 2021. At the same time, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan stated that the forecast for inflation in the country remains within the target range of 4 percent.

Moreover, the World Bank gave a forecast for Azerbaijan's inflation corridor at 3.9 percent in 2021, 3.2 percent - in 2022 and 3 percent - in 2023.
