Azerbaijan continues to record surplus in state budget from early 2021

The surplus has been recorded in the Azerbaijani state budget in the first 4 months of 2021, Trend reports referring to the report of the State Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, over the reporting period, the budget revenues amounted to over 8.2 billion manat ($4.8 billion), which is 14 percent less than in the same period of 2020.

Meanwhile, the state budget expenditure topped 7.5 billion manat ($4.4 million), up by 3.6 percent year on year. As a result, by the late April of this year, a surplus of 706.6 million manat ($415.6 million) has formed in the Azerbaijani state budget (versus surplus of 212.7 million manat ($125.1 million) by the late March of this year).

Besides, the nominal volume of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Azerbaijan stood at 25.08 billion manat ($14.75 billion).

Thus, the state budget surplus equaled 2.8 percent of Azerbaijan's GDP.

Overall, in 2020 the state budget revenues amounted to more than 24.6 billion manat ($14.4 billion), and expenditure - 26.4 billion manat ($15.5 billion). As a result, at the end of 2020, a deficit in the amount of over 1.74 billion manat ($1.02 billion), or 2.4 percent of the country's GDP, was formed in the budget.
