The stagnation is observed in the implementation of the Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) construction project, a source close to the project told Trend.
The source told Trend that, no activity is observed on the part of the participating countries since the last meeting held in the framework of the BakuTel-2017 exhibition.
The Azerbaijani side proposed at that meeting to form a joint budget for the preparation of a feasibility study for the construction of a cable highway was approved by the project participants and certified by the protocol.
One of the recommendations on the agenda was associated with the preparation of the work plan of the project for 2018, which has been repeatedly delayed because of structural changes in the TASIM project presented by Azintelecom LLC Company.
Also one of the important events planned for 2018, as previously reported, were bilateral negotiations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on the construction of the Caspian segment of the cable highway.
"However, no activity of the parties was observed in this direction," the source said.
The TASIM project envisages the creation of a major transit communication line from Frankfurt to Hong Kong. It is planned to implement the project in two stages. The first phase is the construction of the main bus-structured transit infrastructure by the leading regional operators. The second stage is the connection to the highway of the countries of Central Asia and Eurasia, which have no access to the sea.
Currently, the TASIM project involves such countries as Russia (Rostelecom operating company), Kazakhstan (KazTransCom operating company), Turkey ("TurkTelecom" operating company), and China ("China Telecom" operating company). Azerbaijan is represented in this project by the Azintelecom company.
