BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. The volume of non-oil products loaded and unloaded at the ports of Abadan County of Iran’s Khuzestan Province increased by 166 percent, during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared with the same time last year, said Kambiz Malekizadeh, head of Ports and Maritime Department in Abadan County, Trend reports.
The director noted that about 30,200 tons of non-oil products were loaded and unloaded at the ports of the county within 5 months.
He added that the main non-oil products included construction materials, animal feed, various spare parts, fishery products and foodstuffs.
Malekizadeh also said that the mentioned non-oil products were transported to countries located around the Persian Gulf, including Kuwait and the UAE, and vice versa via the ports of Abadan County.
There are 3 ports operating in Abadan County of Iran - Arvandkenar, Chavibdeh and Abadan ports.
In the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2023), 8,140 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Abadan port, 84 tons in Arvandkenar port, and 748 tons in Chavibdeh port.
