BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 3. The value of loans issued by non-banking financial organizations in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 27.516 billion soms ($310 million) from January through June of this year, which is 34 percent more than in the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that the main growth in loans was observed in consumer loans - an increase of 4.176 billion soms ($47 million) and agriculture - an increase of 1.091 billion soms ($12 million).
The loan portfolio of non-banking financial organizations reached 38.054 billion soms ($428 million) as of July 1 of this year, which is 25 percent more than on the same date in 2022.
Consumer loans accounted for 42.2 percent of the total loan volume, agriculture comprised 21.6 percent, and trade sector loans made up 12.6 percent.
Nearly 29 percent of the total loan volume attributed to Bishkek city, 16 percent to Chuy region, 14 percent to Osh region, and 12.6 percent to Jalal-Abad region.
There were 601 non-banking financial organizations and 371 of their branches operating in Kyrgyzstan as of the end of June 2023. The number of clients, both legal entities and individuals, reached 674,400, which is 23,300 (or 3.6 percent) more than the number on July 1, 2022.
