DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 21. The number of POS terminals in Tajikistan amounted to 7,823 as of the end of May 2024, Trend reports.
Data from the National Bank of Tajikistan shows that this figure is 88 percent higher than the 4,152 POS terminals recorded at the end of May 2023.
At the end of the reporting month, the number of ATMs in the country totaled 2,607, which is an increase of 35 percent compared to the 1,920 ATMs in May 2023.
Meanwhile, the number of banking cards in circulation in Tajikistan reached 7,403,067 by the end of May 2024. This figure increased by 29 percent compared to the same date in 2023, when there were 5,732,174 cards in circulation.
As of the end of May 2024, Tajikistan had 63 credit financial organizations operating, including 14 traditional banks, 1 Islamic bank, 1 non-bank credit organization, 19 microcredit deposit organizations, 3 microcredit organizations, and 25 microcredit funds.
