TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 10. Uzbekistan’s current account balance is expected to be -4.3 percent of the GDP in 2023, Trend reports.
The latest World Economic Outlook report from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) shows that the forecast for the current year has been downgraded from the previous outlook of April 2023 (-3.5 percent of the GDP).
According to the latest outlook, Uzbekistan’s current account balance in 2022 is estimated at -0.8, which is a 2.2 percent downgrade compared to the 1.4 percent recorded in the previous outlook in April of this year.
Meanwhile, according to the latest World Bank forecast, the current account surplus of Uzbekistan’s balance of payments in 2023 will amount to -3.7 percent of the GDP.
The WB analysts predict a current account surplus of the balance of payments in 2024 at the level of -3.8 percent of GDP, while in 2025 it will be -4.1 percent of GDP.
