TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 19. Uzbekistan's primary and secondary automobile markets both experienced a moderate downturn in February 2025.

The data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Center for Economic Research and Reforms shows that sales of new domestically produced passenger cars remained stable, while the sale of imported vehicles saw a significant decrease, dropping more than twofold.

In the primary passenger car market, sales fell by 14.5 percent compared to January 2025, totaling 67,200 vehicles. The sale of new foreign-made passenger cars witnessed an even more substantial decline, with a reduction of over 50 percent within the month.

Similarly, the secondary car market saw a drop in activity. Sales in February 2025 amounted to 43,300 vehicles, reflecting a 16 percent decrease compared to January 2025.

The segment of new electric passenger vehicles also faced a downturn. Sales of electric cars in February reached 2,900 units, marking an 11 percent decline from the previous month. However, when compared to the same period last year, the sales of electric vehicles more than doubled.

Meanwhile, in January 2025, Uzbekistan's large enterprises in the automotive industry produced a total of 15,611 passenger cars of various types.

The Сobalt model led production with 5,660 units, followed by Damas with 2,765 units and Kia with 1,978 units.
