Iran reveals export volume of Araz Free Trade Zone

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. The export of non-oil products from the Araz Free Trade Zone of East Azerbaijan Province, located in the northwest of Iran, amounted to $428 million in 4 years (from March 20, 2020, through March 19, 2024), the executive director of the Iranian free trade zone Araz Majid Kiani told reporters, Trend reports.

According to Kiani, a total of $39 million worth of non-oil products were exported from Araz Free Economic Zone from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021, $70 million from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022, and $147 million from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2022. However, $172 million worth of non-oil products were exported from Araz Free Economic Zone in 2024.

The official stated that the products produced in the zone were exported to more than 15 countries during four years.

Kiani noted that about 666,000 tons of products have been produced in Araz Free Trade Zone in the last two years.

He added that 58 industrial enterprises and 16 agricultural enterprises have been granted licenses within 2 years in Araz free trade zone.

To note, Iran's Araz Free Trade Zone is located on the banks of the Araz River. This zone covers an area of 51,000 ha. A total of 150 production and industrial enterprises operate in this zone. At the same time, the largest greenhouse in the country (7,000 square meters) is located in this zone.
