BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. The enhancement of customs cooperation between Iran's Julfa customs and Azerbaijan's Julfa customs in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has been prioritized, Trend reports citing Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
A joint border meeting took place on May 11 at Iran's Jolfa customs office. The meeting was attended by Ali Bisalam, Director of Iran's Julfa Customs Administration, and Elkhan Khudaverdiyev, Head of Azerbaijan's Julfa Customs Administration in Nakhchivan.
During the meeting, Bisalam suggested measures to improve the control of truck movement on the bridge at the customs checkpoint, standardize fuel-carrying trucks, accelerate the processing of trucks at the border to prevent congestion, and implement a set timetable for the customs procedures.
In turn, Khudaverdiyev highlighted that the collaboration between the two customs offices would facilitate increased trade exchange and simplify customs protocols.
