BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. The passenger transportation via Iranian airports rose by 33 percent during the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through April 20, 2025) compared to the same month of the last year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024).
The data obtained by Trend from the Iranian Airports Company shows that in the first month, 348,000 passengers were transported via the airports, compared to 261,000 in the same month last year.

Over the reporting month, the majority of passenger transportation accounted for Mashhad Airport with 170,000, Shiraz Airport with 51,700, and Tabriz Airport with 37,500.
A total of 54 civilian airports operate in Iran. Of these, 14 are international airports. Iranian airports transport an average of 30 million passengers annually.
