BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. Boosting financial transparency will ensure a more favorable investment climate in Azerbaijan, International Monetary Fund (IMF) said in its report on the country’s fiscal reforms, Trend reports.
According to the IMF, the government financial statistics in Azerbaijan are generally adequate and transparent.
At the same time, the IMF mission team developed a special annual action plan to cover a wider period of statistics.
In recent years, Azerbaijan has taken steps to create an institutional infrastructure for the compilation and dissemination of financial statistics, the IMF noted.
The fund’s report also provided information on the activities, tasks and powers of the Center for Medium-Term Expenditure Framework, created within reforms to improve the budget system.
The report also contained suggestions and recommendations regarding the availability of opportunities for the development of institutional infrastructure in this area.
