BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 6. Azerbaijan exported 120,300 tons of persimmon in the first 11 months of 2024.

Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that the value of this quantity of exports was $86.5 million.

The amount of persimmon exports decreased by 4,400 tons (3.5 percent), and the value dropped by $4.9 million (5.3 percent) compared to 124,700 tons, with a value of $91.4 million in 11 months of 2023.

In the course of the reporting period, the biggest fish in the export pond of persimmon swam its way to Russia, weighing in at 104,000 tons and raking in a cool $73.7 million.

Ukraine came in as the second-largest export destination, boasting an export volume of 12,000 tons and raking in a value of $9.5 million.

Türkiye hit the ground running, landing in third place with a hefty 2,000 tons of persimmons shipped out, raking in a cool $1.3 million.

The countries that made the cut include Kazakhstan with 964 tons and a cool $647,000, Belarus weighing in at 521 tons and $580,000, the UAE with 436 tons and $428,000, Moldova at 363 tons and $278,000, Estonia with a mere 28 tons and $21,000, and Saudi Arabia rounding things off with 60 kg and $1,000.
