ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 7. The volume of subsidized leasing for agricultural machinery in Kazakhstan has been increased to 200 billion tenge (approximately $400 million) with an interest rate of only 5 percent, said the country's Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov, at a meeting with domestic agricultural producers chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Trend reports.
According to the Minister of Agriculture, this is 80 billion tenge (approximately $160 million) more than last year, when state support amounted to 120 billion tenge (approximately $240 million).
Moreover, the leasing conditions have improved. Previously, the interest rate was 23 percent, and obtaining subsidies for the interest rate could take months. Now, farmers can use equipment as collateral, and investment subsidies can be used as 30 percent of the down payment.
Today a meeting was held in Kazakhstan with domestic agricultural producers, where current issues related to the development of the agro-industrial complex, the progress of spring fieldwork, support measures for farmers, digitalization of the industry, and areas of cooperation requiring further development were discussed.
