BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 28. The broad money supply (M3 aggregate) in Azerbaijan has reached 47.2 billion manat ($27.7 billion) as of May 1, 2025.
Data obtained by Trend, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), indicates that this marks a monthly increase of 476.9 million manat ($280.5 million), or 1 percent, and a year-on-year rise of 1.93 billion manat ($1.13 billion), or 4.3 percent.
Meanwhile, the money supply in manat (M2 aggregate) stood at 35.4 billion manat ($20.8 billion) as of May 1, 2025, reflecting a slight decrease of 120.3 million manat ($70.7 million), or 0.3 percent, compared to the previous month, but an increase of 1.17 billion manat ($688.2 million), or 3.4 percent, year-on-year.
The M1 money aggregate, representing more liquid forms of money, amounted to 28 billion manat ($16.4 billion), showing a slight decrease of 250.4 million manat ($147.2 million), or 1 percent, compared to last year.
Additionally, the amount of cash in circulation outside the banks (M0 aggregate) was 16 billion manat ($9.4 billion), a slight monthly decline of 28.9 million manat ($17 million), or 0.2 percent, but a significant increase of 748.3 million manat ($440.1 million), or 5 percent, compared to the same period last year.
