BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 11. Kyrgyzstan has harvested 340,100 hectares of grain crops, or 50.1 percent of the total sown area, exceeding last year’s level by 33,700 hectares.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Ministry of Agriculture shows that wheat was harvested from 190,800 hectares (77.1 percent), yielding a harvest of 397,100 tons — 27,100 hectares more than in 2024. Barley has been harvested from 149,200 hectares (59.9 percent) with a gross yield of 240,600 tons, an increase of 6,500 hectares compared to last year.
Corn harvesting has begun in the Osh region, producing 279 tons from 52 hectares, with a total of 111,600 hectares planned for harvesting this year.
Work also continues on other crops: potatoes — 12,700 hectares harvested for 205,700 tons; melons — 10,280 hectares for 255,800 tons; vegetables — 23,100 hectares for 580,800 tons.
