BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19. Iran’s product imports from Tajikistan in the 4 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2025) rose by 3.39 percent in value and 20.2 percent in volume compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through July 21, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) indicates that the country imported $27.9 million worth of products, totaling 13,600 tons, from Tajikistan during this period. Last year, imports from Tajikistan reached $27 million for 11,300 tons.
The primary imported commodities encompassed cotton, silk
textiles, an array of apparatus, and additional merchandise.
The aggregate trade turnover between the Islamic Republic of Iran
and the Republic of Tajikistan culminated at approximately $144
million, encompassing around 205,000 metric tons. This represents a
substantial 25.3 percent escalation in monetary value and a notable
29.3 percent augmentation in volumetric throughput relative to the
preceding fiscal year.
It is noteworthy that Iran's importation trajectory for the initial
quadrimester of the Iranian fiscal year amounted to $17.6 billion,
encompassing a total of 12.2 million metric tons of goods. This
data reflects a contraction of 14.2 percent in monetary terms and a
reduction of 3.23 percent in volumetric metrics relative to the
preceding fiscal year.
Iran predominantly concentrates on the procurement of vital
commodities, concurrently implementing specific constraints on
items that are manufactured within its own borders.
