Interest rates on loans to small and medium-sized enterprises are high in Azerbaijan, the survey of interest rates conducted by the KPMG Global Audit company at the request of the Georgian National Bank.
Thus the nominal weighted average and actual interest rate on investment loan of SMEs make up 18 and 19.6 percent respectively in the country. As to working capital loan for SME, the average nominal rate on such loans is 15.8 percent and on actual annual percentage rate17.2 percent in Azerbaijan.
Besides Azerbaijan, KPMG survey covered several countries, including Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland and Serbia.
