The South Korean KOREA RESOURCES CORPORATION jointly with Kazakh Kazgeologiya JSC conducts geological exploration work in the Dusembay area of the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, the message of the company said Sept.21.
"Exploratory geological routes with the aim of mapping the area of the Mesozoic, Paleozoic and Precambrian outcrop with details within the zones of mineralization and sampling have already been carried out," said the message.
The message said that the entire volume of drilling planned for 2015 has been implemented on the basis of data of geological exploration of the last years.
"A new ore body has been excavated in one of the wells at a depth of 200 meters, which will be assessed based on the results of laboratory tests," said the message.
Ground geophysical surveys are also underway.
Kazgeologiya JSC and KOREA RESOURCES CORPORATION in March 2014 signed a cooperation agreement for the implementation of the project for the exploration of polymetals at the Dusembay site in the Karaganda region. Investment volume in exploration at the first phase of the project will amount to $2 million.
KOREA RESOURCES CORPORATION is a South Korean national corporation, whose shareholders are the government of the Republic of Korea (99.8 percent) and the Development Bank of the Republic of Korea (0.2 percent). The corporation was established in 1992.
The main activity of the corporation is focused on the development of mineral deposits in the Republic of Korea and abroad, conducting effective project management for the development and support of the mining industry, ensuring stable supplies of mineral resources, promoting the development of the national economy of the country.
