An increase in the daily production of natural gas at the Shurtan oil field in Uzbekistan was achieved by reducing compression in the pipeline, loss of hydraulic resistance, and pressure drop, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz.
The Shurtan field of the Shurtan Oil and Gas Production Department of Uzbekneftegaz JSC is one of the largest natural gas reserves in Uzbekistan. Currently, work is underway in the field to increase the daily production of natural gas.
Natural gas produced from wells at the Shurtan field is transferred to the first and second stages of the complex gas treatment unit through 14 collection points and seven batteries.
In this device, natural gas, separated from liquid and mechanical mixtures, is sent to the second stage of the Shurtan compressor station through pipes with a diameter of Ø-426/720 millimeters.
Currently, a 2.5 kilometers long gas pipeline with a diameter of Ø-1020 millimeters has been installed from the second stage of the complex gas treatment unit to the second stage of the Shurtan compressor station and put into operation.
Construction and installation works of the project were carried out by Muborakneftegazmontazh JSC.
The Shurtan field is located in the Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region and was commissioned in 1980.
Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex was put into operation in 2001. The complex is capable of processing up to four billion cubic meters of raw gas per year and producing up to 3.5 billion cubic meters of methane, more than 125,000 tons of polyethylene pellets, 100,000 tons of liquefied gas, 100,000 tons of gas condensate, about 1,500 tons of granulated sulfur and over 2,500 tons of finished pipes and connecting parts.
