Azerbaijan records state budget surplus in 1H2024

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. Azerbaijan's state budget has recorded a surplus from January through June 2024, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, in the reporting period of 2024, the country's state budget revenues exceeded 18.842 billion manat, or $11.08 billion, which is 21.7 percent more than the indicator of the same period last year.

State budget expenditures reached 16.052 billion manat, or $9.44 billion, which is 14.1 percent more than in the same period of 2023.

Therefore, a surplus of 2.79 billion manat, or $1.64 billion, was formed in the state budget at the end of June 2024.

Azerbaijan's nominal GDP amounted to 59.52 billion manat, or $35.01 billion, in the mentioned period.

In 2023, Azerbaijan's state budget revenues rose by 16 percent to 35.574 billion manat, or $20.92 billion, while state budget expenditures increased by 13.7 percent to 36.458 billion manat, or $21.44 billion, compared to 2022.

Consequently, by the end of December 2023, the state budget showed a deficit of 883.7 million manat, or $519.8 million.
