Azerbaijan scales up money supply in national currency

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. Azerbaijan's money supply in manat terms (M2) grew by 2.59 billion manat ($1.52 billion), or 7.81 percent, as of October 1, 2024, compared to the same period last year (from 33.18 billion manat, or $19.52 billion, to 35.77 billion manat, or $21 billion).

Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) shows that cash supply in circulation (M0) rose by 1.09 billion manat or $640 million (7.39 percent) over the year, from 14.7 billion manat ($8.65 billion) to 15.8 billion manat ($9.2 billion), and expanded money supply (M3) increased by 3.56 billion manat or $2.09 billion (8.48 percent) to 45.58 billion manat or $26.8 billion (against 42.02 billion manat or $24.72 billion a year earlier).

The money supply for transactions (M1) increased by 812.8 million manat, or $478 million (2.92 percent), from 27.88 billion manat ($16.4 billion) to 28.69 billion manat ($16.88 billion) over the year.
