BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. With a rise of 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion) or 13.24 percent from the same period in 2023, when the total volume of Azerbaijani bank deposits was 12.9 billion manat ($7.5 billion) to 14.6 billion manat ($8.5 billion) as of December 31, 2024.

The data obtained by Trend from the country's Central Bank (CBA) shows that Baku accounted for 88.35 percent (12.9 billion manat ($7.5 billion)) of all bank deposits in the country, while regions accounted for 11.65 percent (1.7 billion manat ($1 billion).

Simultaneously, 66.36 percent (9.7 billion manat ($5.7 billion)) of the populace's bank deposits were held in the national currency, while 33.64 percent (4.9 billion manat ($2.8 billion)) were in foreign currency.The average annual deposit rate in the country amounted to 4.37 percent (4.23 percent in Baku).
