Iran's trade turnover with OIC member countries grows

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3. Iran's trade turnover with 56 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) increased by 11 percent in value and 8 percent in weight terms during 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through June 21, 2023), Iran's Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance and Director General of Customs Administration Mohammad Rezvanifar said, Trend reports.

According to him, Iran's trade turnover with member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation amounted to 26.7 million tons worth $15.5 billion during 3 months.

The deputy minister added that Iran's exports of products to member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation amounted to 21.5 million tons worth $8.6 billion during the past three months. Iran's exports to member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation increased by 15 percent in value and 6 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.

Rezvanifar noted that Iran imported 5.2 million tons of products worth $6.9 billion from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member countries during the three months. The import of products increased by 7 percent in value and 20 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.

To note, Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to 38 million tons worth $13.5 billion during the past three months. Iran's non-oil exports increased by 7.6 percent in value and 5.6 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through June 21, 2023).
