BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. Iran's Karoon Oil and Gas Production Company has avoided an overall decline in crude oil production by 1.12 million barrels during an oil tank repair, the executive director of Iran's Karoun Oil and Gas Production Company Hassan Shahrooei said at a meeting held on October 7, Trend reports.

According to him, the shortening of the reservoir operation period in the Mansouri oil field from 1 month to 10 days has prevented a decline in crude oil production. This is of great significance for the company.

Shahrooei added that 73 oil wells have been inspected and 23 oil wells have been repaired in the current year to ensure the safety of the wells.

“The Karoon Oil and Gas Production Company has carried out remedial and experimental works to increase production by 115,000 barrels per day, and crude oil production has increased by an average of 95 percent over the past three years,” he said.

Iran's Mansouri oil field is located in Khuzestan province in the southeast of the country. This field was discovered in 1963. It is reported that the field has 3.3 billion barrels of crude oil. Production in this field started in 1974. It is reported that the production potential of the field is 100 thousand barrels per day.

Meanwhile, Karoon Oil and Gas Production Company, operating under the National Company of Southern Oil Zones of Iran, has the potential to produce more than 1 million barrels of oil per day. This company's main oil fields are Ahvaz, Mansouri, Ab-Teymour, and Ramin.

To note, Karoon Oil and Gas Production Company holds a slice of the pie, accounting for 27 percent of Iran's crude oil production.
