BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Exports from the Amirabad Special Economic Zone (SEZ), located in the Mazandaran Province of northern Iran, reached $3.8 million in value and 107,000 tons in weight over the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through April 20, 2025), Reza Gorzin, Director General of the SEZ Administration, told reporters, Trend reports.
He mentioned that the exports from Amirabad SEZ mainly consisted of construction materials and metal products, which were sent to neighboring countries.
Ghorzin further added that during the same period, imports through the SEZ amounted to over $45.6 million, with a total weight of around 132,000 tons. The majority of imported goods included raw materials, timber products, and other related items.
Iran's Customs Administration also reported that, in total, Iran exported non-oil products worth $57.8 billion, reaching nearly 152 million tons, marking a 15.6 percent increase in value and a 10 percent rise in weight compared to the previous year.
