Iran Airports Company says it has signed a deal with Austria’s Aerodata AG to acquire a King air 350i plane. The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury has issued permission for concluding the 11 million euros deal on purchasing the plane for flight inspections, Tasnim news agency reported.
Back in March 2016, Iran purchased its first flight inspection plane from Denmark under a 10 million euro deal. Flight inspections are carried out on actual flights on flight checker aircraft, in order to see whether the appropriate functions are properly maintained for aviation security facilities, air-traffic control facilities and air-traffic control communication facilities, which are used for the safe navigation of aircraft.
