Tehran, Iran, June 18
Iran is ready to test Glonass (Global Navigation Satellite System) in national roads transit network, said deputy minister of Roads and Urban Development.
"The work the location scouting and installation of Iran logistic centers is underway to reduce costs and save time and connect the logistic chain in Iran to other countries, so the development of logistic cooperation via road transit between Iran and Russia's ports in Caspian Sea is important," said Shahram Adamnejad, Trend reports citing ILNA.
"In this regard, Islamic republic of Iran is ready for close cooperation with Russia to facilitate joint investment of private sectors to install logistic centers and provide incentives for investors. Hopefully, the trade and transportation ties between the two countries will increase after signing memorandum of understanding," he added.
As expected, the MoU will be signed following the 10th Iran-Russia joint transportation working group meeting.
"Iran welcomes investment by Russia's private sector in construction and development of domestic and international airports in Iran," he noted. Furthermore, completion of Rasht-Astara railway in upcoming years will positively impact on the transit volume, cargo and passenger transportation via International North-South Transport Corridor."
"At the meeting, plans were discussed in relation to a number of railway projects including Garmsar-Incheboron, Chabahar-Zahedan and Sarakhs-Bandar Abbas electrical railways," he noted.
