The revenues of the Karoon petrochemical company will increase by $13 million a year, executive director of the company Alireza Sadiqzadeh said, Trend reports referring to Shana news agency.
“The Karoon petrochemical company is situated in the special petrochemical economic zone in Mahshahr county of Iran’s south-western Khuzestan province,” the executive director added.
“Presently, the company imports platinum, palladium worth $400 for the production of 1 ton of isocyanate,” Sadiqzadeh said. “If the company uses nickel, the company will spend $60 instead of $400. Thus, one-third will account for the company’s expenses related to platinum palladium."
“About 35 percent of the cost of the finished product is spent on the production and the purchase of catalysts,” the executive director said. “The company may produce 500,000 tons of isocyanate a year. Some 220,000 tons of that volume may be sold.”
“Isocyanates produced in the company are used in the production of furniture, car seats and paint industry,” the executive director said. “After launching activity, Iran does not import this product any more.”
