BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 8. A total of 153,000 tons of non-oil products worth about $362 million were exported from Zanjan Province in western Iran during the eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024), Mohammadreza Naderi, the director-general of the province's finance and economic affairs department, told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, exports of non-oil products from Iran's Zanjan province increased in value by 27 percent and decreased by 8 percent in weight during eight months compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023).
Naderi noted that the following products were exported from the province: zinc worth $209 million, electrical transformers worth $80 million, paper and cardboard worth $22 million, steel ingots, rebar, and profiles worth $17.9 million, and polymer propylene worth $8.5 million.
The official emphasized that during eight months, non-oil products were exported from Zanjan province to 26 countries, including Türkiye worth $166 million, Iraq worth $96 million, UAE worth $21 million, Turkmenistan worth $16.6 million and India worth $11.2 million. In value terms, 86 percent of Zanjan Province's non-oil exports fell on the five mentioned countries.
To note, Iran's non-oil products exports amounted to about 104 million tons worth about $38.2 billion during the eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024). Iran's exports of non-oil products increased by 18 percent in value and 14.6 percent in weight compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023).
