BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. The exports of non-oil products from Bushehr province, located in southern Iran, increased by 10 percent in value and 7 percent in weight during the nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 20, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through December 21, 2023), Customs Inspector of Bushehr Province Customs Office Ali Soleimani said, Trend reports.
According to him, 25 million tons of products worth $9.1 billion were exported from Bushehr province during the nine months.
Soleimani noted that the exported products included petrochemical products, gas condensate, cement, various kinds of fish, shrimp, gypsum, and more. The products were exported mainly to the UAE, China, India, Brazil, Pakistan, Türkiye, Oman, Qatar, and Taiwan.
The official pointed out that 600,000 tons of products worth $1.92 billion were imported to Bushehr province during the past nine months. Imports of products increased by 20 percent in value and 26 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
Soleimani added that the exported products during this period included fabrics, equipment and spare parts, car parts, tea, bananas, and more. These imports primarily came from countries such as the UAE, China, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Türkiye, Pakistan, Singapore, Spain, and Bangladesh.
The official also mentioned that the revenue from Bushehr provincial customs reached 160 trillion rials (about $277 million) in the first nine months, marking a 35 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Regarding transit through Bushehr provincial customs, a customs official reported that 1.8 million tons of goods were transited over the nine months, reflecting an 18-fold increase compared to the previous year.
To note, Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to 116 million tons worth $43.1 billion during nine months of the current Iranian year. Iran's exports of non-oil products increased by 18 percent in value and 13.8 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
