The first meeting of the new convocation of the Supreme Council of Adjaran Autonomous Republic will be held on Oct.28, Georgian media outlets reported on Saturday.
At the first meeting of the Supreme Council chairman, vice-chairmen and chairmen of committees and factions will be elected.
The meeting will be attended by Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili. The "Georgian Dream" coalition led by him won the most votes in the elections to the Supreme Council held on Oct.1, which took place simultaneously with the parliamentary elections.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will nominate candidacy of Avtandil Beridze as Supreme Council chairman on the request of Ivanishvili.
On Oct.29 the Supreme Council will elect chairman of the government of the Adjaran Autonomous Republic. "Georgian Dream" will nominate one of the three candidates - Armaz Akhvlediani, Archil Khabadze and Dljemal Putkaradze for this post.
