BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6. The allocation of 77 million manat ($45.2 million) has been projected for 2026 to support self-employment initiatives across Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
This provision is reflected in the draft law “On the Budget of the Unemployment Insurance Fund for 2026,” discussed during a meeting of the Parliamentary Committees on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, and Labor and Social Policy.
The funds will be used to organize professional training programs and distribute assets in accordance with approved quotas for next year. The initiative aims to broaden the scope of the self-employment program, ensuring the active participation of unemployed citizens in various economic sectors through guidance and essential support services.
Cooperation continues with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA), the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy (KOBİA), and the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation. This collaboration plays a vital role in achieving program objectives and ensuring sustainable employment for participants.
In particular, to promote the sustainable development of households benefiting from self-employment measures, an agreement has been signed with the Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute, operating under AFSA, in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers’ Decision No. 178 “On Service Fees for Veterinary Services and Control Measures.” Within this framework, veterinary services will be provided to ensure animal health protection.
Additionally, new projects will be implemented to expand the program’s reach, strengthen employment services, and enhance job opportunities for socially vulnerable groups, supporting their participation in self-employment activities.
